Australian scholarships are scholarships offered by both the government of Australia and some Australian Universities to and for international students wanting to study in Australia.

Below is information about some of the major scholarships available for international students to apply for:

Australian Government Scholarships

1). Australia Awards Scholarships(Australian Development Scholarships)

The Australia Award scholarships provide opportunities for people from developing countries to study full time at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions. It was formally known as the Australian Development Scholarships and is administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade(of Australia). It is open for students who want to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate degrees.

2). Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships

Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are scholarships provided by the Australian Government that support citizens of the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research and professional development programmes in Australia and for Australians to undertake these programmes overseas. It is internationally competitive and merit-based.

Deadline: 30 June 2014 at 11:59 pm  (AEST).

Australian University Scholarships

1). Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS)

The Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) is funded by University of Melbourne and is given to international students who want to attempt graduate research degree studies at the University of Melbourne. Each faculty has a limited number of awards.

Benefits: $25,392 per annum for living allowance and more.

2). Sydney Achievers International Scholarships

The Sydney Achievers International Scholarships is meant for academically meritorious, international students commencing at the University the University of Sydney in 2014.

Benefits: A$10,000 each per annum.
